Netflix’s Best New Movie Nabs A 100% Rotten Tomatoes Critic Score

The Perfect Neighbor

Netflix

Netflix is not exactly known for having a bunch of perfectly scored original movies, but it has now released one, topping even the 95% Rotten Tomatoes score of KPop Demon Hunters. It’s about a far, far more serious subject, however. It’s called The Perfect Neighbor.

The Perfect Neighbor.is not a blockbuster, but a crime documentary. The film has a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score from a surprising 67 critics, as many docuseries are ignored by critics entirely on Netflix. This one, however, was screened at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, so it’s a little different. And given how good it is, you might understand why Netflix took it there.

The Perfect Neighbor follows the story of the 2023 death of Ajike “AJ” Shantrell Owens, who was shot and killed by Susan Lorincz in Ocala, Florida. The Perfect Neighbor was actually made by the best friend of Ajike Owens, Geeta Gandbhir, who was Owen’s sister-in-law.

The movie makes use of bodycam footage and deals with race and the controversial “stand your ground” laws in Florida. It’s been described as “a documentary horror film built with police footage.”

The Perfect Neighbor

Rotten Tomatoes

The Perfect Neighbor is currently the #2 film in Netflix’s top 10 list, behind only the blockbuster A House of Dynamite, directed by Kathryn Bigelow and starring A-listers from Rebecca Ferguson to Idris Elba. No perfect scores there, but it’s got a solid 79% critic score and 77% audience score. The Perfect Neighbor is ahead of KPop Demon Hunters, a film that has rarely left the top 3 since June 2025 and is Netflix’s most-watched movie of all time by a mile.

Here’s what some of the critics are saying about A Perfect Neighbor:

  • The New Yorker: “I haven’t felt such visceral and intensely gendered loathing for a documentary termagant since “Dear Zachary.”
  • RogerEbert.com: “This is a good film, but change would be a much greater achievement. How much longer must we studiously document senseless suffering?”
  • Screen International: “Director Geeta Gandbhir uses this existing material to tell a tragic story that touches on America’s seemingly intractable struggles with racism, gun violence and mental health.”

The film is bound to be controversial; its audience score is already a lower 77%, far from perfect. But if this is being compared to Dear Zachary, one of the most haunting, compelling documentaries of all time, it is certainly worth a watch, no matter how hard it may be to get through, given its intensely emotional subject matter.

The Perfect Neighbor is streaming on Netflix now.

The post Let insiders trade – Blockworks appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. This is a segment from The Breakdown newsletter. To read more editions, subscribe “The most valuable commodity I know of is information.” — Gordon Gekko, Wall Street Ten months ago, FBI agents raided Shayne Coplan’s Manhattan apartment, ostensibly in search of evidence that the prediction market he founded, Polymarket, had illegally allowed US residents to place bets on the US election. Two weeks ago, the CFTC gave Polymarket the green light to allow those very same US residents to place bets on whatever they like. This is quite the turn of events — and it’s not just about elections or politics. With its US government seal of approval in hand, Polymarket is reportedly raising capital at a valuation of $9 billion — a reflection of the growing belief that prediction markets will be used for much more than betting on elections once every four years. Instead, proponents say prediction markets can provide a real service to the world by providing it with better information about nearly everything. I think they might, too — but only if insiders are free to participate. Yesterday, for example, Polymarket announced new betting markets on company earnings reports, with a promise that it would improve the information that investors have to work with.  Instead of waiting three months to find out how a company is faring, investors could simply watch the odds on Polymarket.  If the probability of an earnings beat is rising, for example, investors would know at a glance that things are going well. But that will only happen if enough of the people betting actually know how things are going. Relying on the wisdom of crowds to magically discern how a business is doing won’t add much incremental knowledge to the world; everyone’s guesses are unlikely to average out to the truth. If…

Gold’s Biggest Sell-Off Ever Could Fuel Bitcoin’s Next Bull Run to $200K

Gold’s Biggest Sell-Off Ever Could Fuel Bitcoin’s Next Bull Run to $200K

The post Gold’s Biggest Sell-Off Ever Could Fuel Bitcoin’s Next Bull Run to $200K appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. How the gold rush ended in October 2025 After a significant rally that pushed gold prices above $4,300 per ounce, the metal reached a historic milestone driven by strong safe-haven demand. By October 2025, the market began experiencing profit-taking. Gold prices fell by more than 2% on Oct. 17, 2025, immediately after reaching the milestone. At the time of writing, spot gold was trading at around $4,023 per ounce: an 8.1% decline from the all-time high of $4,378.69. The primary trigger for the decline was easing US-China trade tensions after President Donald Trump said that maintaining full-scale tariffs on China would be unsustainable. In addition, a stronger US dollar and renewed investor interest in higher-yield assets like Bitcoin (BTC) contributed to the pullback. Did you know? The term “digital gold” gained popularity as Bitcoin’s scarcity and independence began to mirror gold’s role as a hedge against inflation. Gold’s history: Crashes and peaks Gold’s history is marked by dramatic surges and steep declines, driven by inflation, interest rates and geopolitical events. From its early-1980s peak to the sharp correction after 2013 and its strong rally in the 2020s before the October 2025 downturn, the gold market has witnessed several ups and downs. 1980-1999 drop: Following a rapid price surge driven by high inflation and geopolitical tensions, gold peaked in January 1980 at around $850 per ounce. The rally ended with the “Volcker Shock,” when Federal Reserve Chair Paul Volcker aggressively raised interest rates. Between 1980 and 1982, the Fed pushed the federal funds rate above 20% to curb inflation, triggering a sharp recession. This led to a major sell-off, with gold prices falling by more than 60% by 1982 and entering a long-term bear market. From around $850 per ounce in 1980, the gold price declined to about $278 per ounce…
