The remarks ignited backlash on social media, with critics calling his comments "profoundly, offensively disgusting." Former Biden White House staffer Andrew Bates referenced Trump's history of cutting VA benefits. Florida gubernatorial candidate David Jolly urged voters to "send a very loud, undeniable message in November." Other commentators described Trump's behavior as childish and compared him to a "cartoon character."
