NEAR Technical Analysis Jan 24

4 min read

NEAR under pressure at the $1.50 level; short-term bear dominance continues, critical supports ready to be tested around $1.4833.

Short-Term Market Outlook

NEAR Protocol is trading at the $1.50 level on January 24, 2026, showing negative performance with a 1.58% drop over the last 24 hours. The intraday range is stuck between $1.49 – $1.55, while volume remained at a moderate $79.18M level. The short-term trend is clearly downward; the price is positioned below EMA20 ($1.53), reinforcing bear pressure. RSI at 36.55 is approaching oversold territory, while the MACD histogram gives a positive signal though overall momentum is weak. The Supertrend indicator is signaling bearish and pointing to $1.60 resistance. Volatility is expected in the next 24-48 hours, especially as BTC’s sideways movement necessitates a cautious approach in altcoins. In MTF context (1D/3D/1W), 14 strong levels were identified: 1 support/2 resistances on 1D, 2S/2R on 3D, 5S/3R balance on 1W. This increases the risk of a short-term downward breakout. For scalping, monitor narrow bands ($1.49-$1.53); swing traders should focus on quick invalidation points.

Intraday Critical Levels

Nearby Support Zones

Immediate support at $1.4833 (score: 81/100), forming a strong buffer just below the intraday low of $1.49. If broken, $1.4320 (score: 64/100) could be tested quickly; this level is a strong zone from 1D MTF. A drop below $1.48 is critical for invalidation, as it could lead to a downside target of $1.3063. For risk management, keep stop-losses tight below $1.47.

Nearby Resistance Zones

Closest resistance at $1.5097 (score: 63/100) and $1.5281 (score: 77/100); overlapping with EMA20 $1.53. Upper resistance at $1.7153 (score: 69/100) but hard to reach short-term. Supertrend highlights $1.60 as upper resistance. Volume increase is required to break these levels, otherwise rejection risk is high.

Momentum and Speed Analysis

Short-term momentum is mixed: RSI at 36.55 could signal a bottom but remains weak within the downtrend. Although the MACD histogram shows bullish divergence, the price staying below EMA20 preserves bear speed. Speed analysis shows intraday range contraction (3.3% width) signaling a volatility explosion; upside accelerator at $1.53 breakout, downside at below $1.49. Scalping zone: $1.49-$1.5050 range, ideal for quick entries/exits but high risk. Decreasing volume requires alertness to sudden spikes. Momentum reset is likely in the next 24-48 hours; traders should watch RSI below 30.

Short-Term Scenarios

Upside Scenario

Upside scenario activates with a clear breakout of the $1.5097-$1.5281 resistance band (with EMA20). Trigger: Volume-backed close above $1.53. Target $1.6307 (score:51), invalidation below $1.49. This scenario strengthens if BTC holds above $89,688. Potential return 8.5% but short-term risk high; limit position sizing to 1-2% of capital.

Downside Scenario

If $1.4833 support breaks, bear scenario accelerates; trigger close below $1.49. Next stop $1.4320, then $1.3063 downside target. If BTC drops below $88,936, synchronized altcoin decline expected. Invalidation rejection above $1.53. This scenario probability 60+%, tight stops above $1.4950.

Bitcoin Correlation

BTC sideways at $89,320 level, stable with 24h -0.37% but Supertrend bearish – red flag for altcoins. NEAR correlated to BTC at 0.85%; if BTC supports $88,936 / $87,635 / $86,420 break, pressure on NEAR increases to $1.43. If resistances $89,688 / $90,778 / $92,104 hold, NEAR upside scenario supported. BTC dominance rise could create altcoin-less environment; NEAR traders should prioritize BTC levels. Daily Summary and Monitoring Points

Today’s NEAR watch: $1.4833 support test, $1.5281 resistance rejection. Momentum RSI below 30 / MACD crossover. BTC $89k band critical. Short-term trading high risk; manage capital with 1% risk, avoid leverage. No news flow, stay technical-focused. Expect $1.43-$1.63 range in 24-48 hours, hunt scalp opportunities with quick invalidations.

Google Cloud taps EigenLayer to bring trust to agentic payments

Google Cloud taps EigenLayer to bring trust to agentic payments

The post Google Cloud taps EigenLayer to bring trust to agentic payments appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Two days after unveiling AP2 — a universal payment layer for AI agents that supports everything from credit cards to stablecoins — Google and EigenLayer have released details of their partnership to bring verifiability and restaking security to the stack, using Ethereum. In addition to enabling verifiable compute and slashing-backed payment coordination, EigenCloud will support insured and sovereign AI agents, which introduce consequences for failure or deviation from specified behavior. Sovereign agents are positioned as autonomous actors that can own property, make decisions, and execute actions independently — think smart contracts with embedded intelligence. From demos to dollars AP2 extends Google’s agent-to-agent (A2A) protocol using the HTTP 402 status code — long reserved for “payment required” — to standardize payment requests between agents across different networks. It already supports stablecoins like USDC, and Coinbase has demoed an agent checkout using its Wallet-as-a-Service. Paired with a system like Lit Protocol’s Vincent — which enforces per-action policies and key custody at signing — Google’s AP2 with EigenCloud’s verifiability and cross-chain settlement could form an end-to-end trust loop. Payments between agents aren’t as simple as they are often made to sound by “Crypto x AI” LARPs. When an AI agent requests a payment in USDC on Base and the payer’s funds are locked in ETH on Arbitrum, the transaction stalls — unless something abstracts the bridging, swapping and delivery. That’s where EigenCloud comes in. Sreeram Kannan, founder of EigenLayer, said the integration will create agents that not only run on-chain verifiable compute, but are also economically incentivized to behave within programmable bounds. Through restaked operators, EigenCloud powers a verifiable payment service that handles asset routing and chain abstraction, with dishonest behavior subject to slashing. It also introduces cryptographic accountability to the agents themselves, enabling proofs that an agent actually executed the task it…
