Surveillance footage shows the robbers forcing the victim to hand over electronic devices at gunpoint after he opened the door, and then stealing cryptocurrency assets from his phone and laptop by binding him. According to sources, the suspects tortured the victim after binding him, beating him while he was on speakerphone, with a foreign accent repeatedly reciting the victim's personal information. Police responded to the call that evening and found the victim with minor injuries. They are currently investigating how the robbers transferred the cryptocurrency using the stolen devices. The homeowner, 31-year-old Lachy Groom, is reportedly a venture capitalist and the ex-boyfriend of 40-year-old Sam Altman.
